VMG : Velocity Made Good is the Art/Design/Sound company of Seattle artist Perri Howard. Perri wanted to convert her existing site over to the WordPress platform so she could manage the content and image galleries herself.
Perri also needed a blog so she could post the latest events related to VMG.
We recreated her original site design using the same grid pattern she loved for the background, but we whomped it up with added features.
The old project galleries were changed out with a fantastic WordPress plugin called Next GEN Gallery, so Perri can batch upload images for her latest projects and easily manage them in the WordPress Admin area. The sound galleries include an audio player to experience the sound art installations.
We also added social media with links to her business networks and a “Social Sharing Toolkit” so viewers can share the pages they like on their networks as well.
A mobile plugin was installed so the VMG website renders well on smart phones, giving her viewers an easy to use interface while accessing the site via their smart phone.
The cool thing is, while the site resembles the original in basic design it’s a more contemporary version both in the front end (viewers) and back end (admin), making it a better user experience for both sides.
All around it’s been a spectacular update and will make everything so much easier for Perri to maintain.
Perri Howard is a wonderful artist and has expressed her vision with incredibly beautiful public artworks locally, nationally and internationally. In addition, she is a fine artist as well and has an extensive portfolio of paintings.
It’s always a privilege to work with creative people and empower them to take hold of their online presence using the WordPress software.
